Styrodur - specification

Styrodur is a product made of polystyrene, widely used as a thermal insulation material in construction. It is the closest to the styrofoam parameters, which causes many people to confuse these products. It is a more expensive material than styrofoam, but arranging a thinner layer of extruded polystyrene, we achieve the same insulation. It has a homogeneous structure built of smoothly closed microcells. The lack of weakening between the cells results in greater mechanical strength and increased thermal insulation parameters. The small volume of styrodur saves a lot of space. The difference also applies to weight, pressure resistance and hardness.

Styrodur - where to use?

Extruded polystyrene is mainly used for building insulation. It can be used for walls of various types, including in basements or on walls, but also for floors or flat roofs. It can even be used for foundations where the soil is exposed to a large amount of moisture. It works great in places where there are heavy loads, eg in garages. Due to its low absorbability, it is also a great solution when insulating green roofs, i.e. those on which plants grow. Another advantage is that XPS boards can be flooded directly with the ground, which reduces the time and amount of work on earthworks. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the attractive offer of styrodur in our online store.
