• Unifit 033 mineral wool mats are used in pitched roofs, between rafters in roof panels, or as rafter insulation. The possibility of filling with mineral wool the entire height of the space between the rafters depends on the type of roofing membrane used. An additional second or even third layer of thermal insulation is usually installed under the rafters in a suitable supporting structure (battens and counter battens) made of steel or wooden profiles. Proper protection against external moisture of the partition is guaranteed by the correct roofing and the second roof drainage plane, also called wind insulation. However, the internal partition is protected against internal moisture by a proper order of layers from the inside of the exterior, designed so that subsequent layers have a decreasing diffusion resistance for water vapor. Above rooms with elevated temperature or increased relative humidity and in the case of a roof structure with a ventilated gap under the covering - it is necessary and required to use vapor barrier from the inside, in other cases the use of vapor barrier is recommended.
