Depending on the wall thickness, the lintels are arranged individually,
double or triple. To achieve full load-bearing capacity of composite lintels, it is required to brick the supplementary layer from blocks, filling vertical joints even when the blocks have a tongue and groove connection. This layer should be made as accurately as possible, because it forms part of the lintel, which carries compressive stresses.
For openings with a large span, remember to support the lintel in the middle of the span.
